Partick Thistle WFC are delighted to announce that Leah Robinson has agreed to extend her time as a Partick Thistle player to the end of the 2023-2024 season.
Leah joined Thistle almost exactly a year ago from Glasgow Women, where she played a major role in their promotion to SWPL1, after impressing during a trial period pre-season.
The former Celtic Academy player made a total of 22 appearances in her first season in red and yellow, initially mostly from the substitute bench before starting to establish herself as a regular starter in the Jags defence in the second half of the season.
Her first start came against Queen’s Park in the Scottish Cup and she took time out from her defensive duties to score two well taken goals in a 5-2 Thistle win.
Said manager Brian Graham;
“Leah had to bide her time last season but she really stepped up when Cheryl McCulloch got injured.
“You could see how good a defender she is in those top six games at the end of the season when she was up against the best attackers in the league. Hopefully that gives her the confidence coming into this season”
Leah Robinson said: “I’m really excited to be back for next season. I absolutely loved last year and I feel I can only continue to improve working with the coaches and other players.
“I feel I took my chance when it came but I know this is an important pre-season for me now.
I’ve been working hard already but there is a lot of hard work to go and I can’t wait to get back in with the girls next week”
