Levi Gill appointed as Partick Thistle General Manager

Partick Thistle are delighted to announce the appointment of Levi Gill as the club’s new General Manager.

This newly created role will be responsible for the off-the-pitch growth of the football club and assume accountability for the day-to-day running of the organisation.

Levi brings considerable experience of managing organisational change and preparing football clubs for the demands of competing at a higher level, having previously worked as Chief Executive Officer at Barrow AFC where he oversaw their transition from non-league football into a sustainable EFL member club. More recently he has formed part of the senior management team at Altrincham FC in the role of Operations Manager.

Commenting on Levi’s appointment, club director Richard Beastall said:

“We would like to welcome Levi to the team at Thistle. Through the interview process we were impressed by his ideas and ambition to build a leading fan-owned football club. We are confident that he will work with the excellent team here at the club to achieve that vision.

We would like to thank Chris Ross for all he has done to start that process over the last 12 months and wish him every success in the future.”

Partick Thistle’s new General Manager Levi Gill said:

“I’d like to thank the Board for entrusting me with this role following a thorough and professional recruitment process.

“From my first interactions with the club it was very clear that Partick Thistle not only have an ambition to be competing at a higher level, but they also have a clear plan to deliver that ambition and a track record of hitting that plan.

“In previous roles I have been tasked with creating the tools needed for success. Here I believe that so much of what we need is already in place and I am looking forward to working with a talented staff and passionate board to help them to unlock the potential of this fantastic club.

“In recent years Scotland has provided some world-leading examples of the potential for success in fan-owned football clubs, a model which I believe will only grow in popularity across Europe in the coming years. When I look at those fan-owned clubs around and above us, I believe that we have every right to aspire to enjoying the same level of success as our peers. Partick Thistle should be Scotland’s premier fan-owned, community-focused football club and it’s that objective which I hope to be able to deliver for this club and its community.”

Levi will formally assume his new role on Monday 15th July and is looking forward to making further comment to our supporters during his first days with the club.
