We can today confirm the signing of goalkeeper Andy Firth on loan from Rangers for the remainder of the 21/22 season, subject to Scottish FA clearance.
The 25-year-old comes to Firhill to add to Thistle’s goalkeeping unit alongside Jamie Sneddon and Mason McCready.
Firth was a long-time Liverpool youth player, spending 11 years at the Merseyside club enjoying loan spells at Witton Albion and Chester during that time.
He left Liverpool permanently for Barrow in 2018 where he made 18 appearances before then joining Rangers the following year.
Jags boss Ian McCall said:
“We’re pleased to welcome Andy to the club and add another quality goalkeeper to our ranks. With Harry Stone leaving last month, we were left with only Jamie and Mason in terms of goalkeepers and Mason is a very young player who is still learning.
“As such, we wanted to bring in another ‘keeper to bolster our options and when a proven professional like Andy became available we thought it was the ideal opportunity for us.”
An interview with our latest signing will be available to watch on JagZone next week.
