Partick Thistle can today confirm that Blair Lyons will join Montrose on a season-long loan deal, with the option to recall him during the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old winger signed for Thistle from the Gable Endies last January before returning to Links Park on loan. He joined up with the Jags squad full-time ahead of the 2020/21 season, making his debut in our first competitive match of the campaign, at St. Mirren in the Betfred Cup.
Lyons went on to feature 12 times for the League One title-winning Jags with his first start for the club coming on the final day of the season, in familiar surroundings away to Montrose.
Blair will now re-join Stewart Petrie’s side where he scored 11 goals in 33 games during the 2019/20 campaign.
On the deal, Thistle manager Ian McCall said:
“This represents a good opportunity for Blair to go out and play on a more regular basis again. He didn’t really get that consistent run of games with us last season and I think it will be beneficial for him to go to a place he knows well in Montrose and continue his development in what we know is a very competitive league.”
