Loan News: Harry Stone arrives from Hearts

Partick Thistle can today confirm that goalkeeper Harry Stone has joined the Club on a season-long loan deal from Heart of Midlothian, subject to Scottish FA clearance.

The 19-year-old spent the back end of the 2020/21 season on loan at Albion Rovers where he kept four clean sheets in 13 games. Harry proved to be a pivotal player for the Wee Rovers during the run-in with the goalkeeper tasting defeat just once in the final nine games of his loan spell.

The highly-rated ‘stopper also played a single game for Stirling Albion last term, joining the Binos on an emergency loan in October. His only appearance was in a 0-0 draw with eventual League Two champions Queen’s Park at Forthbank Stadium.

On the deal Thistle manager Ian McCall said:

“We’re extremely happy to get Harry’s loan over the line. It’s a deal we’ve been working on for a while but it’s good to get it all finalised. He’s already joined up with us for training and he looked very sharp; he’ll be a real asset for us this season.

“Harry comes very highly rated and similar to last season we have really good competition for the goalkeeper position. It’s now up to Jamie and Harry to earn the right to start for the team.”
