Loan News: Lee Hodson joins on loan until January

Partick Thistle FC are excited to announce the signing of Lee Hodson from Kilmarnock on a loan deal until January, subject to Scottish FA clearance.

The 30-year-old versatile defender was part of the Rugby Park side’s title-winning squad last season, playing 21 times in all competitions as they won promotion to the Premiership.

A 24 times capped Northern Irish international, Hodson started his senior career with Watford where he made 91 appearances before moving on to MK Dons in 2013.

Lee made his first move into Scottish football when he joined Kilmarnock on loan for the second half of the 2015/16 season before then making a permanent move north of the border with Rangers.

Since then he’s had spells with St. Mirren, Gillingham and Hamilton Accies before returning to Kilmarnock last summer.

Lee will wear the number 16 as a Thistle player,

An interview with our latest signing is available to watch now on JagZone.

Thistle manager, Ian McCall, said:

“Lee was my number one target to add to the defensive ranks and I’m delighted that he is joining us on loan. It took a little bit of time to do, but he is a quality player and it is always worth waiting that little bit of time for someone who will add quality to our squad. Lee has experience of winning at this level, being part of the Kilmarnock team which won the league last season and he’s a player that I can see making a real impact in our squad this season.

“Lee is the perfect type of defender as he is versatile and can fill in across the back line. He’s equally comfortable in both full back positions but he doesn’t look out of place at centre back as part of a back three either and he’ll push the rest of our defenders all the way to keep their place in the starting eleven.”
