Loan News: Scott Tiffoney joins on loan for the rest of the season

Partick Thistle can today confirm the signing of 22-year-old attacker Scott Tiffoney on loan until the end of the season from Livingston, subject to SFA clearance.

The attacker started his senior career with Greenock Morton debuting in a Betfred Cup clash with Albion Rovers aged 17. He had a short loan spell with Clyde before Livingston made a move for the Glasgow native.

He re-joined his former club Morton on loan in 2018 before then signing with Ayr United on a temporary deal last year which was cut short by the Championship’s premature end.

So far this season Tiffoney has made 14 appearances for Livingston including an impressive display against St. Johnstone when he scored and provided an assist in a 2-0 win.

Everyone at Firhill would like to wish Scott a warm welcome to the club.

Scott will wear squad number 19 for Thistle and is eligible for selection for tonight’s Scottish Cup tie against Cowdenbeath.

Thistle manager, Ian McCall, said:

“I’m delighted that Scott has chosen to join us for the rest of the season. He is a pacey, attacking player who will add an extra threat to our side going forward.

“He is comfortable playing in a number of positions in the attacking areas of our side and this versatility will be required over the next few weeks.”

Speaking after Adam Devine returned to Rangers, the Jags gaffer added:

“We wish Adam well after he returned to Rangers earlier today. He is a promising young player who looks set to have a good career in the game.

“Adam was signed to compete for the right back slot with Ryan Williamson out injured. Ryan Williamson has now returned to training three to four weeks earlier than anticipated and it would have been unfair to keep Adam at Firhill when opportunities would be limited for him. We thank Rangers for their assistance in taking Adam back to Ibrox which has allowed us to add Scott to the squad.”
