It was a busy week for the six Thistle players currently out on loan across Scotland – here’s a round-up of how they all got on!
RICCO DIACK AND THOMAS HORN
We start at New Central Park where we had a Jag on each side as Kelty Hearts took on Peterhead.
Ricco Diack was handed a start up front for the Maroon Machine and he made the most of it as he fired in a tremendous free-kick from 25 yards to give his side the lead just six minutes in.
Watch the goal here:
Diack played the full 90 minutes but Peterhead were able to turn the game around and claim a 2-1 victory with Ricco’s fellow Academy graduate Thomas Horn making his Blue Toon debut off the bench to help them over the line.
Ricco featured again for Kelty in midweek as they lost 2-0 to Alloa Athletic.
ZANDER MACKENZIE
Having made his first Doonhamers appearance as a starter against Montrose the previous weekend, Zander MacKenzie was in the first XI again on Saturday as Queen of the South took on Alloa Athletic.
The midfielder played an hour before making way for Cole Burke with the Palmerston Park side winning the game through a late Michael Hewitt goal.
MATTHEW FALCONER AND NICK LOCKHART
Linlithgow Rose loan duo Matthew Falconer and Nick Lockhart were both named on the bench for a Lowland League clash with University of Stirling on Saturday.
The table-topping Rosey Posey were beaten 5-4 in an entertaining clash at Prestonfield with Falconer coming on in the second half and Lockhart an unused substitute.
LUIS CAMERON
Luis wasn’t playing this past weekend as Drumchapel United’s game against Glasgow United was called off but he did make a significant contribution the week before during a dramatic Scottish Communities Cup tie against Thornton Hibs.
The game went to penalties after a 1-1 draw and, despite Luis getting close to a couple and getting a hand on one, all penalties had been scored when The Drum went 7-6 in front but that was when Cameron made his mark as he denied Ross Hain from 12 yards to win the tie for his team.
