The progress that Partick Thistle have made this season has been recognised with Mark Wilson being chosen as the Glen’s Vodka Championship Manager of the Month for October.
The Jags drew level with St Johnstone during October after consecutive wins over Ayr United and Ross County in the space of three days before ending the month just three points off top spot.
Wilson’s side have earned plaudits for their attack minded approach with goals coming from defenders, midfielders and attackers with their good form carrying on into November with Queen’s Park seen off 5-0 on Saturday.
The Wyre Stadium at Firhill Head Coach was quick to praise everyone at the club who has helped secure the Award as he said: “This is maybe in my name but it has been achieved thanks to the efforts of the people on the football staff, and on the club staff who do so much diligent work behind the scenes.”
“The work our coaches put in during the week can be seen on match days. Alex Rae invests a lot of time in our midfielders and the quantity, and quality, of goals from them is testament to that. Our goalkeepers have chipped in with important saves and that is a result of the work Kenny Arthur does with them.”
“We are supported really well by Robin Dicke’s Medical Team and our Kit people but the team-work here goes beyond the roles that are seen at training and on match-days. People in the office always go that extra mile for me and the players to ensure that everything is in place to allow us to prepare properly and they have played a significant part in this recognition.”
