Partick Thistle FC can today confirm that Mason McCready has joined Gretna F.C. 2008 on a loan deal until January, subject to Scottish FA clearance.
The Thistle Weir Youth Academy graduate signed a professional two-year deal with the club in the summer and has featured in our matchday squad on several occasions so far this season.
Now, in search of first team minutes, Mason joins Bryan Gilfillan’s Gretna in the Lowland League looking to build on his previous loan experiences – the most recent of which was a stint with Dalbeattie Star last season.
Everyone at the club wishes Mason all the best during his loan spell.
Thistle manager Kris Doolan said:
“The plan has always been to find Mason a loan move so we’re pleased to have it sorted for him now. We want all our young players to be playing regular football whether that’s here or elsewhere on loan because ultimately that’s the best way to improve your game.
“For someone who is only 20, Mason has some good loan experience already but we want him to go and build on that at Gretna while still working with Kenny and the goalkeeping group here at Thistle.”
