Did you know? Partick Thistle FC has an in-stadium matchday commentary service available for visually impaired supporters.
The volunteer service is run by the Rex Blind Parties charity, courtesy of its Thistle secretary Billy Owen, at Firhill for all home matchdays.
The charity, founded by Sunday Mail journalist Bob “Rex” Kingsley, has been active since 1937 while Billy has been commentating at Firhill since the late 1980s.
In the early days commentary was performed by word of mouth but with improved technology and use of all-seated stadiums volunteers now use transmitters and receivers.
If you or someone you know could benefit from this service, including at this Saturday’s home match against Ayr United, please contact Billy via or on 07481 382 082.
