January presented Partick Thistle WFC with challenges on two fronts, SWPL and the Scottish Cup.
The four nominees for the January McArthur Scott Player of the Month are reflective of those differing challenges.
Jeni Currie
January was another hugely impressive month for Jeni who is rated among the very best goalkeepers in the SWPL
She kept a clean sheet, her 4th of the season, as Thistle defeated Boroughmuir Thistle to progress to the next stage of the Scottish Cup and even in defeat against both Glasgow City and Hearts, Jeni produced a string of impressive saves and displayed the bravery that has so marked her time as a Partick Thistle player.
Demi Falconer
There is little new to say about captain Demi Falconer, closing in on her 200th Partick Thistle appearance, who leads by example every time she steps onto the pitch.
January was yet another month where her leadership skills were a stand out as were her performances on the pitch where she set the standards for her teammates.
Addie Handley
Since joining from Hearts, Addie has been a feature of the Thistle side for the whole season and has started each and every game that Thistle have played this season.
Whether at the back or in a roll further up the pitch that she has filled more often of late , her performances have been consistently of the highest standard.
Erin Rennie
Erin has started all but one of Thistle’s 20 fixtures this season and has become a key component of Gary Holt’s side.
January was a particular stand out month for her as she started it with a hat-trick in the 4-0 Scottish Cup win over Boroughmuir Thistle.
She, like the three other nominees, is going to be a vital player in the closing months of the season.
