McArthur Scott PTWFC November Player of the Month

November was a month of change for Partick Thistle WFC with the arrival of new manager Gary Holt.

It’s time of change too for our Player of the Month Award as we welcome a new sponsor of the award, McArthur Scott. McArthur Scott are a local family run business that supports peoiple and businesses across the Glasgow area with mortgages, life and critical illness cover, income protection and private medical insurance and we’re delighted to have them board to recognise the best of Partick Thistle Women each month.

The four nominee’s for the McArthur Scott Player of the Month for November are:

Jeni Currrie

Jeni played in all four games in November and kept a clean sheet in a vital 1-0 win over Aberdeen.

Last month Jeni continued to excel in goal displaying the bravery, shot stopping and reflex skills that have so marked her time at Petershill Park culminating in that vital win over Aberdeen with Jeni making a crucial save with the game deep in injury time.

Jenna Ferguson

Jenna, who is still only 19-years-old came into the side for the difficult away fixture with Rangers and retained her place in the heart of the Thistle defence for the fixtures against Aberdeen and Celtic.

Jenna’s calm and assured performance against Aberdeen contributed much to the eventual 1-0 win and she took that form into the fixture with Celtic when Thistle pushed their full-time rivals right to the finish of a tight fixture.

Cheryl McCulloch

Cheryl featured in three of the four matches played in November, the last two of which were in the left-back role.

Her experience played an instrumental part in helping to drive Thistle to victory over Aberdeen and Chez continues to lead by example whether playing in the heart of the Thistle defence or at full-back.

Lia Tweedie

An ever present across the month of November it was Lia that displayed real bravery to get on to the end of a cross to the back post to score the goal that earned Thistle full points against Aberdeen.

Lia’s role up front for Thistle is an often thankless one but that goal against Aberdeen was a deserved reward for the hard work and determination of the Club’s leading scorer so far this season.
