February was a month of change for Partick Thistle with the Jags involved in transfer dealings both in and out of club as well as parting with manager Kris Doolan and his assistant Paul McDonald.
During the 28 days of the shortest month Thistle played five games and picked up three points with six goals scored with February starting with a battling 2-2 draw with Greenock Morton and ending with a resolute performance in a 1-1 tie with a Livingston side looking to move the top of the table.
Three players have been short-listed as potential winners of the McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month and it is now up to the fans to choose from Lee Ashcroft. Logan Chalmers and Kanayo Megwa.
Lee Ashcroft

In a challenging month for the team Lee stepped up and showed his leadership qualities both on and off the park. A strong presence in his own penalty box the defender won aerial duels throughout the games in February and showed why he is considered a players’ player with his commitment to the game.

Logan Chalmers

Logan started last month by getting fouled for a penalty and then sliding home a late leveller against Greenock Morton at The Wyre Stadium at Firhill. Against Falkirk in Thistle’s next outing the wide-man popped up on the left to drill home a Terry Abalde pass before popping up on the right to create a goal for Brian Graham.
After another fine attacking perfromance against Airdrieonians Logan came up with an inch-perfect cross that allowed centre-forward Graham to fire the Jags ahead against Livingston live on TV.

Kanayo Megwa

Kanayo’s best moment of last month came when he popped up on the left hand side of the Firhill pitch to overlap Stuart Bannigan following a breakaway against Airdrie.
The on-loan Hibs player accepted a pass from his midfield colleague and the sent an inch-perfect pass to skipper Brian Graham who rolled a shot into the far corner of the Diamonds’ goal.
The energetic Kanayo is still learning the game however his powerful runs on the wing whether he is playing in a four man defence or part of a four man midfield help take Partick Thistle up the pitch.
