Thistle’s strong October form continued into November with seven points taken from a possible nine available in Championship action including the team’s most prolific league performance for over a year and a half.
The month ended with a frustrating Scottish Cup tie against Queen’s Park in a game that the Jags could have wrapped up within 30 minutes, however, the team’s direction of travel remains positive as we head towards the festive period.
First, it’s time for you to choose who should be the McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month for November!
Stuart Bannigan
Having returned to the starting line-up midway through October, Bannigan has gone from strength to strength in the Thistle engine room. Constantly on the move, Stuart’s ability to win possession back and help the team retain it has made him one of the standout performers of the past few weeks. The number eight’s influence on the team can be evidenced by the fact that he’s only tasted defeat once in his nine starts this term.
Logan Chalmers
Undoubtedly one of the primary catalysts for Thistle’s return to form, Logan Chalmers has really found his feet as a Jag over the past couple of months. During November, the winger has set up Brian Graham’s opener against Raith Rovers and delivered the cross that led to Thistle getting level against Queen’s Park this past weekend. In between those two assists he also managed a goal of his own; chasing down what looked like a lost cause to block Accies ‘keeper Charlie Albinson’s kick and fire the ball into an empty net.
Brian Graham
The Thistle skipper added three more goals to his tally during the month of November taking him into double digits for the season. Now sitting with 14 goal involvements in 19 games overall, Graham scored once against Raith Rovers and twice against Hamilton, putting his body on the line to score an important goal at the start of the second half against Accies. He also managed an assist last month as he set Robbie Crawford up against Queen’s Park at Hampden.
Scott Robinson
Another player who has recently come back into the starting XI, Scott Robinson has been a real difference maker for Kris Doolan during November. That could be seen in the first game of the month when Robinson’s goal against Dunfermline earned the team three points in a tightly-contested game at East End Park. He was on the scoresheet again two weeks later when he bagged two goals and an assist as the Jags romped to an impressive win over Hamilton Accies with Scott’s first half brace setting Thistle on their way.
