McCrea Financial Services Player of the Year

The 2022/23 regular cinch Championship season has come to a close with our 36th and final fixture being contested at Stark’s Park last Friday.

Now, with a play-off quarter-final tie against Queen’s Park drawing closer, we’re asking the Red and Yellow Army to pick the McCrea Financial Services Player of the Year award for the 22/23 term.

The four nominees for the prize are as follows:

Brian Graham

It’s been another fantastic season in Thistle colours for Brian Graham with his influence on the Jags’ attack only growing in his third full campaign at the club. With 16 goals and 10 assists in 38 games, the veteran frontman has flourished in an attack which finished as the second-top scorers in the division. His highlights for this term include a winner on the opening day of the season at Stenhousemuir, a brace against Inverness at Firhill and a double in a 3-1 victory at Dens’ Park.

Steven Lawless

When Steven Lawless re-joined the club last summer there were probably some questions about whether the winger could still produce the sort of magic that got fans out of their seats during his first spell at the club; Lawless has answered those questions and then some with a slew of dazzling displays in his first season back at Firhill. The number 11’s style has been accompanied by substance with 7 goals and 6 assists representing a very healthy return for the ex-Livingston man who has scored a winner against Ayr United and a crucial equaliser against Hamilton Accies along the way.

Jack McMillan

When it comes to consistency and availability, no-one in the Thistle squad has come close to Jack McMillan. The right-back has started all 46 games this season so far for Thistle, maintaining an impressive level of performance across those appearances and producing 10 assists from defence. His partnership down the right flank with the aforementioned Steven Lawless has stood out with the pair having an almost telepathic understanding at times leading to goals and chances aplenty.

Harry Milne

A pre-contract signing from Cove Rangers in the summer, there was a lot of excitement around the arrival of Harry Milne. The defender had been scoring and creating an eye-catching number of goals in League One and from the first time he stepped on the pitch for Thistle, away at Kilmarnock, it was clear he was going to fit in well in Maryhill. His season was cruelly cut short by injury in late March but the number three had already left an indelible mark on the Jags’ season with his 10 league goal involvements being the highest amongst defenders in the Championship.
