Megan Cunningham rejoins for new season

Partick Thistle WFC is delighted to confirm that goalkeeper Megan Cunningham has agreed to return to Petershill Park for the 2023-2024 season on a season long loan from Rangers.

While on loan last season, Megan has made a colossal contribution to a highly successful season for PTWFC.

Megan made a number of pre-season appearances for Thistle as a Trialist before making her full Thistle debut against Aberdeen on August 21st 2022. Her first clean sheet came 7 days later away to Spartans, the first of 8 clean sheets that Megan has kept as Thistle’s last line of defence.

Commanding and secure Megan, capped twice by Scotland, has significantly helped solidify the Thistle defence and has now made 25 appearances as a Partick Thistle. It is a major boost to the Club’s aspirations for the 2023-2024 season that she has made a commitment to return as a Partick Thistle player.

Said manager Brian Graham; “I’m delighted to welcome Megan back to the club

I firmly believe she is one of, if not the, best goalkeeper in the league so to bring her back is fantastic.

“We saw how important she was to the team last season and i’m sure she will be exactly the same this season. She’s a an absolute professional in the way she trains and plays and that rubs off onto the rest of the squad.

I want to thank Jo and everyone at Rangers for helping make it happen”

Megan Cunningham said: “I’m really happy to be be back as a Thistle player for another season, I absolutly loved my time here last season. It’s an amazing dressing room and club to be a part of

“We achived a lot last season and we’ll all be working hard to aim to do the same again, if not go better if we can.”
