Message from the Jags Trust – 23rd October 2021

Great Friday Football

What a result we had at our last match!

I’m sure we are all still smiling as we remember the result from our Friday Football in South Lanarkshire.

However, some Partick Thistle fans are never happy!

As we left the Fountain of Youth Stadium the conversation between some Jags fans were bemoaning the fact, we didn’t keep a clean sheet. While others were tearing up their betting slips. Sometimes we are never satisfied.

I’m sure we all have a story behind our journey to being a Thistle fan and why we bleed red and yellow. It is so important that this year 2021 we remember the months of April and October, very special times in our history. A century has passed since the 1921 Scottish Cup win against Glasgow Rangers and half a century since the 1971 League Cup win against Glasgow Celtic.

If you haven’t yet seen the documentary presented by the Club “1921 – Road to Firhill” it is a great piece of social history and well worth the watching.

Every season, and Saturday, the Great Glasgow Alternative support continues to sing the song “Bring the Scottish Cup back up to Maryhill”.

Fingers crossed Thistle will fulfil that wish in their lifetime.

Whatever way you are going to celebrate these special dates we are wishing the Club, the Manager, Players and all Jags fans around the world a memorable weekend.

As sober October is drawing to an end and Movember begins we encourage all Thistle fans to take care of their health.
