MESSAGE TO ALL FANS – SUPPORTER SAFETY

During Saturday’s victory at East End Park, a Thistle supporter suffered burns to his jacket and damage to his seat caused by a pyrotechnic device allegedly thrown from elsewhere in the away end.

The club is liaising with the family of the victim and Dunfermline Athletic FC to enable us to investigate fully. We have also invited the victim and his family to meet with club representatives prior to Saturday’s home match against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Anybody with any information about Saturday’s alleged incident is free to contact the club in confidence via

We can only repeat in the firmest terms that no supporter should bring any pyrotechnics or flares to any matches at Firhill or to the Thistle section of any of our away games.

Partick Thistle, in conjunction with Police Scotland, have a zero-tolerance approach to the use of pyrotechnics and offenders will be ejected and banned from attending Thistle matches for life. They may also be subject to criminal proceedings and banned from football stadia.

This is covered in full within the Stadium Guidelines – Unacceptable Conduct section of the club website: www.ptfc.co.uk/season-tickets/stadium-guidelines/

It should also go without saying that the throwing of any such devices or indeed any objects at matches also endangers the safety of supporters, matchday staff, officials and players, and will not be tolerated by the club.

We hope this message is backed by all who read it and that no Thistle fan would wish to cause any injury, damage or upset to a fellow supporter.

Incident aside, the Partick Thistle support continues to be outstanding in backing the team at home and away and we look forward to more of the same at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill on Saturday.
