Open Day success secures Volunteer of the Month Status for Norman Wilson

The Partick Thistle Open Day, which was held on Sunday, July 20 at The Wyre Stadium at Firhill, was a huge success and a major part of that was due to this Month’s Volunteer of the Month Norman Wilson.

Norman wears many hats at the club however the work he put in during his own time to ensure that everyone had a memorable experience was outstanding. Our supporters not only saw the players train intensely but also got to meet them afterwards for an autograph session as well as taking part in a host of other activities

To achieve such a successful day Norman had to liaise across all the departments of the club, including the team of volunteers that he works alongside on a Match Day and organisations from inside and outside of the Partick Thistle family.

He even managed to get a visit from a Fire Engine from Maryhill Fire Station!

All this was done alongside the other roles Norman carries out at the club with General Manager Levi Gill saying: “Norman’s nomination as Volunteer of the Month was heavily backed and I can understand why very easily. The Open Day received unanimous praise and the way everyone worked together was a great showcase of the good feeling that Norman creates.”

“Knowing Norman as I do, I am sure he will say that there were better candidates but trust me there were not.”
