Partick Thistle and Just Employment Law unveil special edition goalkeeper kit

For the second season running, in support of principal sponsor Just Employment Law’s charity partner Pancreatic Cancer Action Scotland, Partick Thistle is proud to unveil a special edition goalkeeper kit.

In keeping with the colour used to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer, today’s reveal is another punchy, purple Partick Thistle goalkeeping kit for season 2022/23, which will again carry the logo of Pancreatic Cancer Action Scotland (PCAS) and be worn by the Jags’ goalkeepers this season.

Everyone at Firhill is very proud to continue to support the work led by Just Employment Law through their sponsorship of the club to raise awareness of Pancreatic Cancer Action Scotland. This will include another Purple Thistle Day at Firhill this season, details of which will be announced soon.

Thistle Chief Executive, Gerry Britton, said: “Just Employment Law’s commitment in supporting Pancreatic Cancer Action Scotland is something everyone at Partick Thistle can get behind and this bespoke goalkeeping kit dedicated to the charity is a brilliant way by which to highlight the cause.

“Just Employment Law deserve immense credit for finding new ways to give their fundraising and awareness campaign fresh energy each year. Everyone at Firhill is proud to support David and his team, including our men’s team goalkeepers who love the purple kit, and we all look forward to seeing it in action on the pitch during the exciting season ahead.”

To date, Just Employment Law have raised almost £300,000 in support of Pancreatic Cancer Action Scotland, whose cause is being further promoted by a newly branded purple van, as pictured with David Mitchell and Jamie Sneddon.

David McRae, Managing Director of Just Employment Law, commented: “We’re indebted to all at Partick Thistle for once again supporting our aim of elevating PCAS’s messaging to a national audience. The charity is one with which I have a close, personal connection and I’m delighted to see the new kit with their logo front and centre.”

Fiona Brown, Development Manager at Pancreatic Cancer Action Scotland said: ““We are very grateful for the inspiring support from Just Employment Law and Partick Thistle Football Club in helping raise funds and awareness of pancreatic cancer. We love that they continue to embrace the colour purple to attract attention, helping open more conversations around the disease, it’s symptoms and the importance of early diagnosis. A huge thanks to everyone involved and best of luck for the season.”

Pancreatic cancer has the lowest 5-year survival rate of the 22 most common cancers, largely due to late diagnosis.

Pancreatic Cancer Scotland (PCS) was formed in 2010 by a group of patients, carers, nurses and doctors in Scotland to share hope, knowledge and action in the battle against pancreatic cancer. In 2020 PCS entered a new chapter merging with Pancreatic Cancer Action (PCA), to become Pancreatic Cancer Action Scotland (PCAS). With a vision to make the 2020’s the Decade of Change for the world’s toughest cancer, the charity’s mission is to improve survival rates of pancreatic cancer by ensuring more people are diagnosed early and that everyone has access to effective treatments, support, information and care.
