Partick Thistle Football Club Trust meeting on Saturday

PTFC Trust Fans Forum

As we reach the second anniversary of The PTFC Trust – the Club’s biggest shareholder – we are offering a new opportunity for supporters to get their voice heard. We are seeking to develop a forum to reflect fans’ interests on an organised and regular basis. Acting as a sounding board and working with the fans’ reps on the Trust, it aims to make sure that the trustees represent all fans views to the Club Board and management.

We want everyone to think about getting involved. Young, old or any point in between, you may never have played a role in any group associated with the Club. You may have 40 years connection to Thistle – or you may have four years. Regardless, we need as many willing supporters to create a strong forum to ensure that it identifies and reflects fans’ interests on an organised and regular basis. This won’t see any reduction in the three public meetings that the Trust holds with supporters each year – this will simply add to the interaction and, hopefully, make the Trust even more relevant to fans. This is open to all fans, whether Season Ticket holders or not.

New Trustees

Two years in, we are looking at the Trust itself and how we can improve its effectiveness. We believe that we need to increase the supporter representation on the Trust, which means new trustees drawn from fans. Since the Trust is independent of the Club, we want to strengthen the fans’ representation and active support, so new trustees will be expected to be involved regularly in the Trust’s activities, including assisting with admin etc, as well as help the Trust Board set the direction for the Trust. There will be a level of commitment that won’t be too significant but it will be a couple of hours a month.

As a fan, would you be interested in becoming a new Trustee? Don’t worry if this is a new thing for you, training will be given. Preference will be given to Season Ticket holders who have held them for a minimum of 3 years, in line with the Trust’s definition of shareholders.
