Partick Thistle July Player of the Month

Mark Wilson’s Jags have made a blistering start to the 2025/26 competitive season, recording four wins from four games and earning progression to the last 16 of the Premier Sports Cup.

Now with August about to start and the new league season looming large, it’s time to decide who was Thistle’s standout player during July!

The long-standing sponsorship of our monthly awards by McCrea Financial Services came to an end this summer and we’d like to thank them for over a decade of partnership recognising the performances of our first team.

The nominees for this month’s prize are:

Cammy Logan

One of the new faces arriving in Maryhill this summer, Cammy Logan could hardly have made a better start to the competitive season when he fired in the opening goal against Edinburgh City after just two minutes. The full-back’s composed finish beneath the goalkeeper set him off on a good footing and he’s looked very comfortable as part of the Jags’ backline since, playing his part in a pair of home clean sheets.

Lee Ashcroft

Winner of the final monthly award of last season, Ashcroft has started the new campaign in a similar vein of form. The central defender was appointed club captain during pre-season and has taken to his new role like a duck to water, displaying his usual defensive reliability while also popping up with his first goal for the club at the other end; an important opener against Stranraer.

Logan Chalmers

Thistle’s number 10 has got off to a flyer for the new season with goal involvements in three of the team’s four competitive games so far. He started off by setting one up and scoring one in a 4-1 win against Edinburgh City before grabbing another assist when we hosted Stranraer. He topped off his month by curling in a stunning goal in the team’s 3-1 win against Ross County, an early goal of the season contender.

Robbie Crawford

Starting all four group stage games, Robbie Crawford has played a key role in the side’s high-energy approach through the first month of the season. The midfielder’s impact has gone beyond just his hard work though with Crawford getting on the scoresheet in our first and last games of July. Against Edinburgh City he showed quick thinking to backheel the ball into the back of the net while facing away from goal and then against Ross County he timed an incisive run to perfection before slotting past Ross Laidlaw to break the deadlock.
