Partick Thistle Football Club, as a club for all, stands wholeheartedly against the ongoing and sustained discrimination of those playing and connected to football. We have consistently supported campaigns around this subject matter in the past, including “Show Racism The Red Card.
Despite this being a key time for Scottish football – a weekend when promotion, play-off and relegation matters may be settled in three out of the top four leagues – there is strength in unity. We are therefore pleased to support the social media blackout over the coming weekend.
With only a few days’ notice, regrettably it is difficult to do much more. We would hope that, in slower time, the SPFL will consult clubs to create a more substantive, bespoke campaign to tackle all forms of discrimination in our game.
