In collaboration with club partners O’Neills and Greaves Sports the club today unveils its men’s team third kit for season 2022/23, to be worn for the first time this Saturday, with a portion of all sales to be donated to the Jags For Good initiative.
The predominantly yellow top with red pin stripes and collar, accompanied by black shorts and socks, will be limited edition with a run of 125 made and will go on sale online at www.greavesports.com at 6pm today, then physically in Greaves’ Gordon Street store from 10am tomorrow. A £10 donation from the sale of each top will be donated to Jags For Good, as chosen by club and players, to go towards the initiative’s Energy Fund.
Worn for the first time on the day that midfielder Stuart Bannigan will be inducted to the club’s Hall Of Fame, the third kit is a nod back to the popular team of ten years ago and is a retro top designed especially for younger fans, following the success of our 1921 and 1971 commemorative strips.
Partick Thistle CEO Gerry Britton said: “We’re delighted to launch our new third kit for season 2022/23 and as always thankful to both O’Neills and Greaves Sports for the passion and attention to detail they have displayed throughout the process. This kit has been many months in the making during which time the cost of living crisis has only sharpened for many so we are very grateful that Greaves Sports, O’Neills, the club and men’s first team are all united in giving something back by way of donations to Jags For Good.”
In September, a Jags For Good Energy Fund was launched which, managed by Glasgow North West Foodbank, will be used to buy energy top-ups for people being pulled into poverty by the cost of living crisis. A donation from the sales of this kit will be made to the fund at the start of December.
Alan Aitken of Jags For Good said: “We are delighted that the club and players have chosen to donate £10 from each sale of the new strips to our Energy Fund. The support for the Fund since its launch has been incredible, with so many Thistle fans showing their support for people across our local communities who are struggling to get by.
“This additional support is yet more evidence of the compassion that exists among the Thistle community. It will, for many people, be the difference between being able to heat their home or not in the coming months. We are hugely grateful.”
