Prior to kick-off tomorrow, a minute’s applause will take place to allow all connected with Partick Thistle to remember those we lost during season 2023/24 and the summer since.
This will be our first home match since the passing of legendary club figure Gerry Collins, and so we invite all at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill to remember and celebrate Gerry’s significant contribution to the club during this minute’s applause.
We will also take the opportunity to remember our former player Billy Abercromby, who represented the club 12 times in the late 1980s, after his untimely passing recently at the age of 65.
Finally, the minute’s applause also gives Jags fans an opportunity to remember any loved ones lost during the course of season 2023/24 and since. This will include remembering lifelong Jags fan Gordon McPhate, who passed away earlier today at the age of 86, and whose son Fraser and grandson Ben will attend tomorrow’s game.
Our love and thoughts are with Fraser, Ben and all Gordon’s family and friends at this difficult time – once a Jag, always a Jag.
