PTW November Player of the Month

After a hugely positive October, it was all about continuing momentum in November for Partick Thistle Women’s FC with three more tough game to contend with.

The month started with a tightly-contested game against Motherwell which the Jags edged at Petershill Park before they then travelled to face Hamilton Accies where they won 5-1 with a thoroughly professional performance. The team finished November with a match against Glasgow City with the away side running out 4-1 winners though that didn’t tell the whole story of the game.

Now, as we get ready to finish off 2022, it’s time to pick the PTWFC Player of the Month for November:

Rachel Donaldson
Having been nominated for the league wide Player of the Month award it’s hardly a surprise to see Rachel Donaldson among the nominees for this prize. The winger was the difference maker in our opening game of November against Motherwell when she curled a terrific shot into the top corner to grab the only goal of the game and then she was in sparkling form again against Hamilton when she scored once again as well as providing two assists.

Claire Adams
Claire Adams forced her way into the PTWFC starting XI with a standout performance at Hibs in October and she’s shown a commendable level of consistency since then. Playing a key role in the Thistle engine room, Adams has done a bit of everything from breaking up opposition attacks to playing progressive passes like the one to Rachel Donaldson against Motherwell which led to a goal.

Linzi Taylor
Linzi Taylor started all three games during the month of November with her standout display coming in the away win against Hamilton Accies. It was the number 15 who popped up with the vital opening goal as she headed home Freya Macdonald’s cross after 22 minutes. Taylor scored again early in the second half to make it 3-0, getting on the end of a Rachel Donaldson cross.

Rosie Slater
The Thistle defence have been in formidable form as of late, keeping three clean sheets in the last five games, and Rosie Slater has been a key part of that unit. Rosie didn’t actually start the first game of the month but was brought on just after the opening goal with half an hour to play and helped Thistle see the win through despite pressure from the visitors. She’s started the subsequent two games as she continues to enjoy her second season in red and yellow.
