PTW sign defender on loan

Partick Thistle WFC are delighted to announce the signing from Celtic, on loan until the end of the current season, of defender Amy Richardson.

The Wales international who received her first full call up in July moved to Celtic in the summer on a three-year contract having previously been part of the Everton Academy system. On a dual registration, Amy last season played her football with Liverpool Feds in the FA Women’s National League North.

This season Amy has played three times for the Celtic first team in addition to being part of Celtic’s Champions League squad and can operate as a full back or centre-half.

Amy goes straight into the Thistle squad that will head north to face Aberdeen on Wednesday evening and will wear number 3.

Speaking after joining Amy Said: “I’m still young and I want to learn and improve as a player. I feel this is the perfect place for me to do that.

“When I heard Thistle were interested I knew I wanted to come and play football here. The club have a track record of helping young players and improving them so it fits perfectly with my aims for the rest of the season.

I’m looking forward to getting started”

Said Thistle manager Brian Graham; “Amy adds more quality to the squad and provides a little more competition to the defensive area of the pitch.

“We had already strengthened the front end of the pitch in the window so it’s good to bring in another defender.

“She’s a Welsh internationalist so has real quality about her. She’s young and eager to learn and I know she will do that here”
