Partick Thistle WFC is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Jennifer Currie ahead of the new Scottish Power WPL season.
Jen, who featured in the first half of Sunday’s friendly against St. Johnstone, arrives at Petershill Park having most recently been on the books at Aberdeen but with further past experience in Scottish football playing for Hearts, Hibs and Hamilton Accies.
Currie’s career has also taken her abroad with stints in the United States, Bulgaria and Northern Ireland where she won the Premiership League Cup in 2022.
Now the Edinburgh native signs with the Jags as Brian Graham continues to build his squad for another important league campaign.
Jen Currie said: “I’m really happy to be a Partick Thistle player. From speaking to Brian it’s clear the ambition he has for the team and that has shown every time I’ve come up against Thistle in the past.
It’s a team who are so together and clearly fight for each other on the pitch and I wanted to be part of that and part of the way the club are trying to grow”
PTWFC manager Brian Graham said:
Jen is a player I’ve admired for a number of years. She has played well against us so often in the past, so it’s great to finally have her on our side and welcome her to Partick Thistle.
“”I thought it was important to make sure we had a permanent goalkeeper this season and Jeni was our number one target. She’s an experienced commanding goalkeeper who is a fantastic shot stopper.
