It’s a very Happy Birthday to, well us actually.
Seven years ago today Partick Thistle Women’s Football Club played their very first fixture. A friendly against Glasgow Women FC. We didn’t get off to the best of starts, losing that inaugural fixture but the progress since those early days has been significant and sustained.
Our first promotion came in just our second season with a second promotion following in 2018.
That second promotion took us from the Scottish Women’s Football League to where we are today, the second tier of the Scottish Women’s Premier League but our ambitions don’t stop there.
We should have returned to action following the midseason break at the weekend but the current Covid restrictions put a, hopefully temporary, halt to that. When we do return though we will be continuing to press hard for another promotion and a place in the top flight of the Scottish Women’s game.
Over the course of the last week or so we have been extending our thanks to our various sponsors who have provided much needed support to manager Brian Graham and his squad.
