PTWFC make matchday addition

Partick Thistle Women’s FC are delighted to announce an addition to the playing squad ahead of tonight’s opening home clash against Hibernian.

Joining David Elliot’s squad is 17-year-old midfielder Lucy Turner who joins up after spending last season with Ayr United.

The young midfielder came through the Glasgow City Academy before joining now Thistle assistant head coach, Craig Potter, last season at Ayr United.

The youngster, who turns 18 next month, was named as a trialist for last week’s victory over Hamilton but is now a fully-fledged Jag.

Speaking after signing Lucy said: “I’m really excited to become a Partick Thistle player. I’ve been in training for the last week or two and have loved every minute of it. The girls have been so welcoming, and the standard of training has been really high.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead, This is a great place for me to learn and improve my game and I’ll work as hard as I can to do that”

Head coach David Elliot said: ”Lucy has really impressed in training and came highly recommended by Craig Potter who worked with her last season at Ayr.

“We’re happy to add another young talent to the squad who will only get better and improve but is able to make a real impact right now.”
