Partick Thistle Women’s FC is delighted to announce that full-backs Kim Murphy and Freya Macdonald have signed up with the club for the 21/22 campaign.
Firstly, Murphy commits to a second full season as a Jag having initially moved to Maryhill from Kilmarnock back in December 2019.
Kim featured in 13 matches last season, starting nine times on the left side of the backline.
Scottish youth international right-back Freya Macdonald has also extended her stay at PTWFC by turning her loan stint into a permanent deal.
The 18-year-old defender joined us on a short-term loan deal from Rangers back in May ahead of the SWPL 2’s return having already featured twice in Thistle colours, as a trialist last December.
Freya made seven total appearances for the club during her loan and has opted to become a fully-fledged Jags player ahead of the 2021/22 campaign getting underway.
PTWFC manager Brian Graham said:
“It’s great to have so many of last season’s squad committing again for next season as we look to keep the momentum going.
“Kim was reliable for us all season and an important part of the team. She brings a lot to the squad both on and off the park.
“Freya joined us on loan for the run in last term and is a really promising young talent. It’s testament to what we are building that she’s decided to now sign permanently.”
