It is with enormous delight that Partick Thistle WFC can confirm that Rachel Donaldson has made a commitment to Partick Thistle for the forthcoming 2024-2025 season.
Rachel has been part of the Thistle set-up since February 2022 when she made the switch from Celtic, where she played Champions League football, to Partick Thistle.
Next season, therefore, will be Rachel’s 4th as a Partick Thistle player. Across her three previous seasons as a Jag, she has made 77 appearances and scored 18 goals, many of them of hugely spectacular strikes. None more so than her magnificent strike against Rangers in last season’s Sky Sports Cup Final at Tynecastle.
Rachel will be closing in on her 100th Partick Thistle appearance next season and is a real boost to the Club’s aspirations that she will be again wearing red and yellow next season.
Rachel said:
“I love being a Partick Thistle player so I didn’t have to think twice to come back for my fourth season.
“It’s such a special group of players and staff and we’ve made some amazing memories with our great fans over the last three years. I’m excited to make hopefully more next season”
Said manager Brian Graham; “Rachel is such a big part of this team so it’s great to get her committed for next season.
She is a real x-factor in the team in that she can create something out of nothing as we all saw with that goal in the cup final.
“A big part of our success has been down to keeping that good spine of the team with returning players and Rachel is one of those players”
