Partick Thistle Women’s FC is delighted to announce the signing of Rebecca McAllister for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.
McAllister arrives at Petershill Park having most recently been with Hearts where she spent a season and half playing her part in the Jambos’ fourth-placed finish last term.
A creative midfielder, Rebecca came through the youth ranks at Celtic progressing into the first team during a seven-year stint with the Hoops which included appearances in the SWPL and Women’s Champions’ League.
She is also well-acquainted with the Scottish national set-up having represented her country at various youth levels as well as at senior level, debuting last November by coming off the bench in a friendly against Venezuela.
Thistle manager Brian Graham said:
“We’re really excited to welcome Rebecca to the club. She’s a player we know from having come up against her and I have no doubts in my mind about the qualities she’s got. She’s still such a young player but some of the experiences she’s had are extraordinary
Playing in European competition and representing her country, these things don’t happen to everyone.
“The competition in the squad has been getting better and better each season and adding Rebecca will only enhance that. She’s been in to train with the girl and and fitted in straight away with the group so I’m looking forward to seeing what she can achieve as a Thistle player.”
Speaking after signing, Rebecca McAllister said:
“It’s great to officially join the club – I’ve came in to train with the team and knew pretty quickly that I wanted to sign.
“This Thistle team have done so well this season and you can see the positivity that’s around the place. It’s an ambitious club too and there are big goals already in place so for me it’s about working hard and contributing in any way that I can to help the team reach those targets.”
