Richard Beastall stands down as Chairman and Director

Richard Beastall has informed the Trustees of the PTFC Trust, the fan ownership group that controls the club, that he intends to step down as both Chairman and Director of Partick Thistle Football Club with immediate effect.

Richard’s decision to leave comes as a result of a significant change in his professional life, to which he is required to dedicate more time.

On behalf of the Club, the Board thanks him for his three years of service, which came during a vital transitional period for the Club. We wish him and his family well for the future.

“It has been an absolute honour to serve as Chair and Director of my club,” said Richard. “I believe it’s the right moment for me to step aside and allow the club to enter its next chapter.

“During my time on the board, we completed the transfer of the majority shareholding in Thistle to the fans, fulfilling the wishes of Colin Weir. On the pitch, we’ve reached the playoffs in each of the three seasons I’ve been involved. Off it, we’ve raised £1m to strengthen the club and the stadium.

“To the fan groups who have allowed me to work on behalf of our club, and to every staff member and volunteer – thank you. Your passion and dedication are what make Partick Thistle special.”

The Board of Partick Thistle Football Club is in ongoing discussions with Trustees over the future shape of the leadership team ahead of the forthcoming AGM.

Our shared priority is to continue on a path of stability and strategic growth for the club, while also supporting Mark Wilson and the playing squad in their strong start to the season.

Annual General Meeting update

Due to unforeseen and unrelated delays in finalising our annual accounts, we intend to hold our AGM in early 2026.

A formal notice will follow once arrangements have been finalised.
