We have decided to posthumously award October’s Volunteer of the Month to Robert (Rab) Richardson.
Rab, as everyone at the club called him, volunteered in the club’s Facilities Team and spent many days making The Wyre Stadium at Firhill spick and span again after a game.
Well-known for possessing many a Thistle jersey, Rab was also a familiar face at the Partick Thistle’s Charitable Trust’s home of Petershill, where he was a very active member of their Accepting Activity Programme.
Rab passed away last month at the age of 46 with the club’s Facilities Manager Anthony Docherty saying: “Rab had been nominated to be recognised as our Volunteer of the Month in the past. Whilst he was pipped to the post at the voting stages at that time it was unanimous that he was to be recognised now.”
