Rosie McQuillan joins for 23/24

Partick Thistle Women’s FC are excited to announce the signing of former Spartans striker Rosie McQuillan ahead of the start of the 2023-2024 season.

Rosie, who will turn 20 in October, has spent the last two seasons with Thistle’s SWPL rivals, scoring five times from 49 appearances including a double in a 2-2 draw with Celtic, after joining the Edinburgh club from Rangers in 2021, and comes to Petershill Park with a wealth of top flight experience.

Capped at under 15, 17, where she scored 7 times in 15 appearances, and 19 levels for Scotland, Rosie has been training with Thistle pre-season and has clearly impressed manager Brian Graham in both training and pre-season fixtures and will significantly bolster Thistle’s options in the final third.

Said manager Brian Graham; “Rosie is a player we’ve been looking at for a while. We tried to get her when she joined Spartans but missed out at that point, so I’m delighted to finally bring her to the club.

“She’s shown during pre-season what she can bring to this team and she really gives us another and different option at the top end of the pitch.

“She’s experienced in this league for someone so young and has a fantastic shot on her which will really cause other teams problems but more than that she is great at linking up the play and bringing others into the game”

Speaking after signing Rosie McQuillan said: “I’m really happy to be here. Playing against Thistle you can see the way they are building season on season, that is really exciting to be part of.

“There are a lot of quality players here, you can see that in training so I know I’ll have to work hard for my place but

I’m coming to try and help the team as much as possible and hopefully I can do that with some goals”
