Partick Thistle Women’s FC is excited to announce that Rosie Slater has agreed a deal to return to the club for the 2022/23 season.
The full-back, who was on loan from Rangers last season, has decided to become a full-fledged Jag for the upcoming campaign as she looks to build on an impressive debut year in red and yellow.
Rosie made her Thistle debut in the SWPL Cup group stages against Celtic and rarely dropped out of the team thereafter, racking up 29 appearances overall last term.
At just 18 years of age, Slater has been a standout in Brian Graham’s side featuring on either side of the defence at different points in the season and even filling in at centre-half for our final two games of the 21/22 campaign.
PTWFC manager Brian Graham said: “I’ve loved working with Rosie this season while she has been on loan and I think it shows how much she has enjoyed being here that she has agreed to join permanently for next season.
“I think because of the way she plays and the maturity she shows, people forget she has only just turned 18 years old and is the youngest in the squad. She is only going to get better after a full season playing SWPL1 this year and I can’t wait to see how she progresses next season”
Rosie Slater said: “I’ve really loved my time here this season so when Brian asked if I wanted to come back next season I agreed straight away. My family and I have been made to feel really welcome and we all love it here. I’m still only young but I’ve learned so much already, it’s a great place for a young player to come and play football”
