The Scottish FA are seeking fan opinion on Scottish Cup replays as part of an ongoing process involving the Scottish FA Rules Revision Working Group.
Replays were removed from Rounds One, Two and Three of the Scottish Cup for this Season, 2022/23. There have been no replays in the Scottish Cup from Round Four onwards for a number of Seasons now. Replays could therefore only be played in the Preliminary Round of the Competition this Season.
It has been proposed that replays be removed from the Preliminary Round(s) and Rounds One to Three of the Scottish Cup on a permanent basis from Season 2023/24. This will assist with fixture scheduling, as well as travel and costs issues relating to Cup replays.
This means that there would be no replays in any Round of the Competition from next Season.
To gauge opinion on the topic, the Scottish FA have created a survey for supporters to fill which can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/5TR9PVP
The responses will go directly to the Scottish FA, before being collated and provided to the Scottish FA Rules Revision Working Group before a final decision is made in respect of the proposal.
The survey should be completed and submitted by 5pm on Monday 17 April 2023.
