Shea Gordon pens new one-year contract

Partick Thistle can today confirm that Shea Gordon has signed a new one-year deal with the Club.

The 23-year-old initially joined us on loan from Motherwell in 2018, playing 14 times and scoring four goals in his first season as a Jag.

After his loan finished, he signed a two-year deal to stay in Maryhill and has gone on to make a further 50 appearances since, scoring 10 more goals.

Last season, Shea featured in 27 of our 28 games and played an important part in Thistle’s late-season form, starting in five of the Jags’ final six matches.

Gordon ended the 2020/21 term with three goals to his name, the most important of which was a powerful header to give Thistle the lead in the second half of our match against Forfar at Station Park in December.

On the deal, Thistle manager Ian McCall said:

“Shea was one of the unsung heroes of our season last year. He played a part in nearly every game for us and played a very important role at a vital time of the season too. When Ross Docherty was missing just after the break and when Stuart Bannigan missed games during the split, Shea’s level of performance was excellent and helped us towards some key wins. We’re pleased to be able to get him back for next season.”
