Partick Thistle WFC are in the very happy position of confirming that defender Shona Cowan will continue her football development as a Partick Thistle player in season 2024-2025.
Shona spent most of last season at Petershill Park on loan from Hearts.
In total Shona made 11 appearances for Thistle, a total that would have been significantly higher but for injury.
That Shona will be joining Brian Graham’s squad for the new season as a fully fledged Partick Thistle player enhances the options open to the manager and adds depth to the squad.
Shona said:“I really enjoyed my loan spell here last season. I loved working with Brian and the coaches and all the girls were really welcoming from the moment I got here.
When Brian said he wanted to keep me here permanently it was a really easy decision to make.
“It was frustrating missing a period out with injury but I’m looking forward to my first pre-season with the team and being a proper Jag”
Commented the Thistle manager; “I’ve been a big fan of Shona’s for a while now so I was happy to get her on loan last season. I’m even happier to get her tied up as a permanent Partick Thistle player.
She is probably one of the most professional and hard working players I’ve come across and is an absolute joy to manage.
“She was unlucky with injury during her loan spell but I’m excited to see her back at the club next season as a fully fledged Partick Thistle player”
