Partick Thistle FC are excited to announce the signing of Aidan Fitzpatrick on a two-year deal, subject to Scottish FA clearance.
A product of the Thistle Weir Youth Academy, Aidan is returning to the club three years after initially departing for Norwich City in 2019.
His move south of the border came off the back of a whirlwind debut season in the Thistle first team during which he played 30 times and scored seven goals.
The winger became the first Jag born in the 21st century to play and score for the club when he came on as substitute against Albion Rovers and scored the second goal in a 2-0 win.
A brace away to Stranraer and a late winner against Dundee United were among the highlights of an impressive maiden campaign in senior football and unsurprisingly his performances drew the attention of many suitors, with Norwich City making the move to sign Aidan.
He returned to Scotland on loan initially with Queen of the South where he scored four times in 27 matches before then signing a one-year deal to return to Palmerston Park for a further season.
Now, after a spell on trial with the club, Fitzpatrick has agreed a two-year deal to return home to Firhill.
Thistle manager Ian McCall said:
“We’re pleased to be able to welcome Aidan back to the club. He’s a very exciting young player who is still just 21 years old so we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do in his second spell here.
“We’re trying to build a team that will create a lot of chances for our strikers and Aidan’s certainly a player who fits that profile. I don’t really need to tell Thistle fans what he’s all about but suffice to say he’ll be a handful for any full-back he comes up against.”
Aidan will wear number 21 for the upcoming season.
Our JagZone team will catch up with Aidan on Friday for the first interview of his second spell.
