Partick Thistle can today announce the signing of Stephen Hendrie on a deal until January, subject to international clearance.
The left-back arrives at Firhill having most recently played with Morecambe, featuring 45 times for the Shrimps as they earned promotion to EFL League One via the play-offs last season.
Hendrie’s senior career began with Hamilton as he racked up over 100 appearances for Accies before leaving for West Ham in 2015.
Thereafter he spent time on loan with Southend and Blackburn before signing a permanent deal with the former. He’s since had short spells back in his homeland at Motherwell and Kilmarnock.
Stephen represented Scotland at under 17, 19, 20 and 21 levels, making 17 appearances across the various age groups.
Thistle manager Ian McCall said:
“I’m very pleased to welcome Stephen to the squad. I’ve spoken plenty about wanting to add to the defensive options we have here and getting someone like Stephen in is just what I was looking for.
“He played over 40 games last season at a very good level and we’ve had him in training for a little while now so we know we’re getting a quality player to add to what is already a very talented squad.”
Hendrie will wear squad number 33 during his time at Firhill.
Stephen’s first interview as a Thistle player is available to watch on JagZone now.
