Signing News: Kyle Turner is a Jag

Partick Thistle can today confirm that Kyle Turner has agreed to sign for the club on a two-year contract and will join his team-mates at Firhill in June.

The midfielder will arrive in Maryhill off the back of two seasons as a Dunfermline player where he played more than 50 times and scored six goals.

The 23-year-old is no stranger to Firhill having spent some time with the Club as a youth player before leaving to pursue first team football at Stranraer in 2015 where he racked up well over 100 appearances at League One level.

Kyle spent the second half of the 2020/21 campaign out on loan at Airdrieonians playing a vital role as the Diamonds went on a run of one defeat in nine games to end the regular season.

Following the news that Turner had agreed to sign, Thistle manager Ian McCall said:

“We’re delighted to be able to welcome Kyle to the Club. He’s a fantastic player who had no shortage of interest in him this summer from teams in both the Championship and Premiership, so we’re very pleased he’s chosen to come to Firhill.

“For a young player of 23 he’s got plenty of first team games under his belt and we’re really excited about what he’s going to bring to our team. Having played so many games in the lower leagues, he’s developed that toughness you need for the Championship but he’s also got exceptional quality that allows him to get into the forward areas to create and score goals.”

Our latest signing spoke to the JagZone team earlier this afternoon. Log in now to hear what he had to say.
