Signing News: Souleymane Coulibaly is a Jag

Partick Thistle can today confirm the signing of 23 year old attacker, Souleymane Coulibaly on a one-year deal, subject to international clearance.

The Ivorian striker comes to Maryhill on a one-year deal having left Egyptian side, Al Ahly last year. Souleymane is best known for his spell in Scotland with Kilmarnock as he became a fans’ favourite at Rugby Park, renowned for scoring some remarkable goals, celebrated with a somersault or two. In total, Coulibaly scored 11 in 26 games for Killie.

Coulibaly’s youth career began with Siena in Italy before he joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2011. Loan spells in Italy with Grosseto and Bari followed before he moved to Peterborough United in 2015. With the Posh he bagged five goals in 27 league appearances also netting once during a short loan spell at Newport County.

Our new frontman has international pedigree too having claimed the top goalscorer award at the 2011 u17s World Cup. While representing the Ivory Coast at the tournament, Souleymane found the net nine times in just four matches including a hat-trick against Brazil and a quadruple against Denmark.
