Partick Thistle Women are thrilled to announce the signing of Sophie Timlin ahead of the 2026/2027 SWPL1 campaign.
A successful product of the Celtic academy, Sophie worked her way through the ranks at the Glasgow Club before going on to make her senior debut in a 6-0 victory over Motherwell in 2023.
Noted for her versatility across both the defence and the midfield Sophie then went on to develop her game through a productive loan spell at Dundee United where she featured 24 times through their SWPL1 campaign including impressing against Thistle on a couple of occasions.
The Scotland youth international spent last season with Gartcain, where she continued to impress in what was a highly competitive SWPL2 season for the Lanarkshire based outfit.
She now arrives at Petershill Park with the new league season just under 2 weeks away.
After signing Timlin said:“I’m really happy to become a Partick Thistle player. I’ve been in over pre season for a few weeks and the girls and coaching staff have made me feel really welcome”

Manager Gary Holt said: “Sophie has played a lot of football for a player that is so young. She is incredibly versatile so gives us a lot of options.
“She’s a player who is incredibly mature and calm on the ball and has really impressed us over pre-season.”
