To a certain vintage of Thistle supporters’ the weekend of 24th/25th January 1993 brings back incredibly fond memories. John Lambie’s Thistle side were in the middle of a successful first season back in the Premier Division but it was a weekend at the SECC which captured Jags fans’ hearts.
The 1993 Tennents’ Sixes tournament featuring top flight sides was held in Glasgow by the river and won in thrilling fashion by The Jags – and we remain the reigning champions to the present day!
To celebrate 30 years since that unique weekend, we are hosting a dinner at Firhill to allow supporters and players the opportunity to reminisce with a Tennent’s-tastic trip down memory lane.
Enjoy a two course meal, and complimentary pint courtesy of Tennent’s*, before hearing the memories of the majority of members of the squad involved through that weekend.
In attendance at the dinner will be coaching duo Gerry Collins and Gordon Chisholm, alongside the playing class of 1993, namely Colin McGlashan, David Irons, George Shaw, Gerry Britton, Paul Kinnaird, Paul McLaughlin and Andy Murdoch.
Taking place on Saturday 28th January in the Alan Rough Lounge**, tickets for the event are on sale now.
Tickets are priced at £45 for non-season ticket holders and just £35 for season ticket holders.
