Ryan Williamson wasn’t happy after the defeat at home to Dundee halted Thistle’s winning run in the league.
A first half goal secured the points for the visitors as Thistle struggled to break down the Dundee side.
Williamson was disappointed in how the game turned out. Speaking to ptfc.co.uk he said: “We’re obviously massively disappointed after losing that one. It was a poor goal to lose in the first half and we’ve struggled to break them down after that.
“The manager has told us we didn’t create enough. We’ve huffed and puffed a little but we didn’t make the goalkeeper work enough, especially for the amount of the ball that we had.”
Ryan did feel the team didn’t perform poorly but admits they didn’t do enough to take all three points.
“It was frustrating, performance wise as I don’t think we were bad, but we didn’t do enough in that final third where it matters and we lost a goal which we should have done better with”
Next up is a trip to Cappielow to face Morton and the Jags defender knows how important the match is.
“We know we have another important game next week and we just have to dust ourselves down and work hard in training this week.
“We’ve been on a good run and we wanted to keep that going. We are disappointed in ourselves, we need to do more with the ball and create more opportunities, and we’ll be looking to do that next week.
“We can’t dwell on today; we’ve got two big away games coming up. We will come in on Monday and work towards those games.”
As Thistle move toward 2020 the Thistle number 2 knows Thistle have to do better in the second half of the season.
“We’re heading in to the second half of the season, we know we haven’t done good enough in the first half of the season. We’ve not been nearly good enough for what we expect of ourselves and what our aspirations were as a team, but we’ll be looking to put that right in the second half of the season.”
