It’s World Pancreatic Cancer Day and earlier today Ian McCall and Harry Milne visited our main sponsors Just Employment Law as we again join forces to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer.
This Saturday will see Firhill host its fourth Purple Thistle Day as the Jags and JEL unite to support the aims of JEL’s charity partner, Pancreatic Cancer Action Scotland.
Ian and Harry spoke to media at JEL’s Glasgow HQ today to help spread this important message, and fans can contribute in a number of ways at the stadium before, during and after Saturday’s home fixture against Arbroath.
David McRae, managing director of Just Employment Law (JEL), said: “Purple Thistle Day is an event all at JEL look forward to as we aim to bring colour and noise to Firhill to increase awareness of the aims of our charity partners, Pancreatic Cancer Action Scotland.
“This year, we’re hosting some 80 guests for the day who are all looking forward to cheering on the Jags and adding a splash of purple to proceedings. We’re indebted to all at Partick Thistle, including Kingsley!, for backing the event and helping to raise the profile of our charity.”
With bucket collections before the game, players wearing special Purple t-shirts during the warm-up and a fundraising raffle in hospitality as well, Thistle and JEL are proud to do their bit to support this important cause.
Gerry Britton, Partick Thistle CEO, said: “The work that David and his team at Just Employment Law do to raise both awareness and funds for PCAS is absolutely amazing and we are proud to play our small part in that. Jags fans have given this annual fundraising day tremendous backing in the past and we know this Saturday will be no different – so a huge thank you is due to all supporters for each and every donation.”
