Thistle applauds fans as income and donations pass £150,000

Today we can reveal that the incredible sum of more than £150,000 has now been generated for the club by you, our amazing supporters, in less than three months.

A variety of revenue streams and fundraising mechanisms – including a GoFundMe donation page, commemorative tile sales and virtual 50/50 draws – have allowed fans to spend anything from as little as £1 on the club in the absence of football.

Today’s update thanks all supporters for their unbelievable backing as well as reminding of the various ways you can continue to support us, including a new easier sign-up process for our popular Centenary Fund.

Thistle Chief Executive Gerry Britton said: “Thistle supporters have been world class once again and we cannot thank you enough. We know this is a tremendously challenging time for everyone, in many different ways, which makes this £150,000 milestone all the more impressive. Initiatives such as the virtual 50/50 draw have been a big success in allowing fans to get involved for a smaller donation which many have – and that all adds up.

“These funds allow us to do two things. Firstly, they help the club maintain a strong financial position while continuing to meet our significantly reduced running and maintenance costs at present. Secondly, in the event that our return to football means playing behind closed doors, the monies give us a welcome financial boost to be able to do that until we can host football matches with supporters in the stadium.”

Gerry added: “It’s important that we repeat the message that people should only spend or donate what they can afford – if you are not in a position to make a financial contribution at the moment please don’t. You can support us in many ways, not just financially, so please keep backing us, engaging with us, sharing our stories and looking out for your fellow fans.”

Please include your inscription in the notes when you order – remember it can be two lines long with a maximum of 16 characters in each line. 4. Join the Centenary Fund: It has never been easier to sign up for the Centenary Fund. With lots of prizes to be won each month, grab your Centenary Fund subscription before Wed 10th June to ensure you are in the June draw.
5. Take part in our virtual 50/50 half-time draw which we hold every Saturday afternoon when we stream classic Thistle matches on YouTube, FREE for all Jags fans to tune in. With an average cash prize of £475 being won each week, the 50/50 has proved very popular with Thistle fans. 6. Season tickets for season 2020/21 are on sale now. Prices are unchanged from season 2019/20 with supporters able to make a 50% down payment with the balance due at the start of the 2020/21 season. The sale of 2020/21 season tickets follows considerable supporter interest but we must again re-stress – if you can’t afford this now, please wait and do it only when you are sure you can.
